These Generación Savia awards recognise the entrepreneurial drive and talent of senior professionals, giving visibility to initiatives with a real impact on society.
Talent has no age. That is what the +50 Emprende Awards reflect, recognising senior entrepreneurship every year as a key part of the business and social fabric.
This initiative by Generación Savia, the Fundación Endesa project run in collaboration with Fundación máshumano and the production company 02:59 Films, has chosen the winning projects of its 6th edition from 201 initiatives and 481 entrepreneurs, and for the first time awarded the Green Entrepreneurship Award, which recognises projects focused on the energy transition and the circular economy.
Experience, innovation and sustainability took centre stage at the final Gala of awards that highlight the entrepreneurial drive and talent of professionals over 50, giving visibility to initiatives with a real impact on society.
This year’s entries included proposals from very diverse fields, although a wide variety of initiatives related to sustainability and the environment made a strong showing. The presence of artificial intelligence is also consolidating among the projects submitted: from technological devices to artworks and books created with AI.
Winners of the 6th edition
The winning project of this 6th edition was Slimop Space, led by Eduardo Ferrer (64, Barcelona). It is a project to develop pioneering orbital telescopes for satellites and nanosatellites. Its approach involves ultra-light, low-cost, fast-delivery high-resolution imagers that can be deployed and scaled to meet the growing demand for Earth observation satellite constellations.
Second prize went to the project SwiftOn, by Delphine Hatsadourian (53, French, living in Barcelona), a smart device that encourages hotel guests to save water in a playful way, without affecting their experience. Using AI and gamification to guide them through an optimised routine, this application encourages shorter showers in a natural and fun way.
Third prize went to Dekipling by Rodrigo García (59, Madrid), which seeks to address Alzheimer’s care at home with a model combining social and healthcare support with clinical evidence. Its clinically validated structured monitoring methodology makes it possible to adjust medication more precisely, prevent avoidable hospital admissions and reduce the burden on carers.
Finally, the Green Entrepreneurship award went to Agrolinera, developed by Juan Gutierrez (50, Asturias), which seeks to digitalise the collection of whey and slurry destined for biogas plants. To this end, it has developed a system of sensor-equipped collection points connected to a cloud platform, currently in its pilot phase in the Picos de Europa National Park.
“At Fundación Endesa we believe in the immense potential of senior talent to transform society and the business fabric. It is not just about recognising their experience, but about giving them the boost they need to keep innovating and creating impact. The +50 Emprende Awards reflect our commitment to a future in which age is not a limit but an added value in building a stronger, more diverse and more sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem,” said María Malaxechevarría, Director General of Fundación Endesa and of Sustainability at the energy company.
Beatriz Sánchez Guitián, Director General of Fundación máshumano, added that “ talent does not retire. It can change course and evolve, but it never disappears. The experience and strategic vision of senior professionals are a fundamental asset for business and innovation, and these awards recognise the incalculable value that people over 50 bring to our society.”
For his part, Fernando Lallana, director of the +50 Emprende Awards, noted that “age is not an obstacle but an advantage that brings maturity, resilience and a strategic vision that make the difference and it is never too late to start a business. The quality of the projects, the background and the presentations of the finalists, and especially the winners, show that senior entrepreneurship is growing ever stronger in our country”.
The awards carry prize money of 10,000 euros for the winner, 5,000 euros for second place and 3,000 euros for third. In addition, the Green Entrepreneurship Award granted 15,000 euros to the best project in this category. The winners in the general category will also receive 20,000 euros in kind, including training and advisory services.
